Dear Sir or Madam,

Actually, I wanted to take this opportunity to joyfully inform you that after a break of one year due to Corona the Innovation Prize of the Supplier Industry for Concrete Components will once again be awarded within the scope of the 66th Betontage in a few weeks. Just recently, the application portfolios were put on my desk, as a member of the jury of experts. I can already tell you here – the remarkable 26 submissions confirmed the gratifying upward trend. Unfortunately, however, it became apparent how strong the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic still is on our industry events. FBF Betondienst GmbH has postponed the 66th BetonTage congress originally scheduled for February 2022. Instead, the leading event of the concrete and precast industry will take place from 21 to 23 June 2022 at Congress Centrum Ulm/Maritim Hotel Ulm. This decision was made due to the current Covid-19 pandemic spread and on the grounds of the related regulation applicable in the German State of Baden-Württemberg, which was last amended on 20 December 2021. So we still have to be patient, but we are sure that it will be worth the wait. I wish you a good start into a successful and healthy new year. Enjoy this Newletter.
Yours
Silvio Schade

66th BetonTage: New date for the precast industry event
The multi-day industry gathering usually hosts about 2,300 attendees. “We have been thinking long and hard before making the decision to move the BetonTage to the summer season. We are currently unable to predict if the situation will ease again in February, and are thus not in a position to guarantee that the congress can be held as an in-person event meeting the usual quality standard. This is why we agreed on the new date out of our responsibility towards the attendees and the exhibiting companies,” explains Dr. Ulrich Lotz ...

Blue concrete blocks from Zeulenroda for Vårbergs Jättar
“Take it easy like Pelousen Jätte – one of the Vårbergs Giants – that is as of recently now resting on a lawn in Stockholm and on which people are encouraged to romp around on,” as aptly titled by Arte-art, the art magazine, in December of 2020, in reporting on this extraordinary project of the artists Xavier Veilhan and Alexis Bertrand. The wish of the two artists and the city is that the people who live here and visitors to the Swedish metropolis could play, picnic and relax on it.
