The Quadriga robot system heralds a new era for safe lining demolition work as well as relining in vertical components
Maximum work safety combined with minimum personnel requirement and simultaneous minimization of downtimes as well as expansion of plant availability? These primary and undoubtedly competing plant overhaul objectives were the incentive for the M-Group (Möller Feuerfesttechnik, Eberhardt Schwab, RefraSolid, among others) to implement a novel development project for the overhaul activities in cylindrical components, e.g. the calciner of a cement plant. The knowledge of valuable secondary raw materials
“Let your actions keep pace with your knowledge,” says a Chinese proverb. This also applies to efficient and sustainable management. It is true that iron slag, a by-product from the steel industry, has been making an important contribution to the circular economy and resource conservation for decades. However, misleading or missing information repeatedly ensures that the secondary raw material and the quality-tested building materials and fertilizers made from it are given lower priority.

Sustainable lime burning technology with shaft kilns
Maerz Ofenbau AG is developing new lime kilns to achieve global climate goals. The operating mode can be flexibly adapted to the environmental requirements. The kilns can be operated both conventionally and in oxyfuel mode. In oxyfuel mode, CO2 concentrations of 90 to 97% are achieved, so that an inexpensive CCU/CCS system can be added downstream.

Data-based performance optimization
Whereas condition monitoring (CM) in the cement industry has customarily been limited to monitoring the condition of gearing mechanisms and bearings, thyssenkrupp has extended CM to cover the entire plant operation, i.e. hydraulics, pneumatics, grinding mills, seals and couplings. Remote CM as part of the polysius® digital solutions portfolio allows some monitoring functions to be conducted remotely.
The benefits: Higher throughput, quality and efficiency in use of energy and resources as well as reduced operation costs.
